Sometimes simply clicking something isn’t enough. Sometimes you need to click, double click, or click + hold! Here’s what we implemented when working on Econia. Link to the full source at the bottom. Generally, once a click begins we start a timer to check if the player holds for long enough (in which case he is “click + hold”-ing) […]

Kick-starting the Year Off Right
Econia will be on Kickstarter in February! By the first of the month we mean to have everything ready for the campaign, a kickstarter page, promotional video, etc., and will then work with you, our awesome friends, to refine everything until it’s ready to present to the world. Then, when they least expect it*, bam!
Iterate, iterate, iterate
Iterate, iterate, iterate. Here is a Super Meat Boy replay that composites the player’s 100 attempts to get through the level, all of them dying somewhere along the way except the final attempt when he got it right. Prototype III
Another face-rocking prototype is ready for your consideration, my submission to the ChangeTheGameJam 2014. Click the image up there to play. This prototype takes things in a completely different direction. While the previous two focused on the growth of society and borrowed mechanics from Cookie Clicker, this one borrows mechanics from Pac-Man and is all […]

Prototypes
Two prototypes in two weeks. Mission accomplished. Let me know what you think! Prototype U – – & – – Prototype P I’ve put these prototypes together to get a feel for the game before jumping into development, to weigh if this is worth doing. A wiser man would have done this before resigning from his job, but here we […]
So It Begins
Today is my first day working as an independent developer. Archon Rises has been submitted to the app store for soft-launch and I’ve spent the last three weeks training Itai to take over the bulk of my responsibilities. Now I’m on my own. The temptation to sit around in my underwear (ungirded) and play Torchlight instead of […]
Leap of Faith
It is official. After 5 amazing years I am resigning from 7e. I’ll still be around to ensure the game launches successfully and tie up loose ends, but otherwise it’s time to seize the horizon…
