There’s a new version of the Zephyr game. Be a pal and give it a play, let me know what you think! Since the last version I’ve added more levels, more juice, and few new mechanics.
There are also a lot of under-the-hood updates like saving your progress as you go, and recording how many times each level is beat in a nice back-end database. Thanks to Max for helping slay the PHP monster.
Next step I think will be to do some actual art (or find someone to do it?) I’m imagining a style between Godus and Minecraft. Then the roly’s will be some combination of a hedgehog and Om Nom from Cut the Rope.
I really want to take this game all the way to the app store. It will be a great bit of experience to personally handle all those important pieces that you never really think about when designing a game, like when to prompt the player to rate your game, connecting with Game Center, and so forth.
On top of THAT, I also spent the other night making a prototype for a mini-game for Archon Rises. It’s two-players though, so bring a friend!
It uses three of the troop types from Archon Rises, so it’s nice that it reinforces those concepts (like the Paladin bests the Wing Knight, who bests the Asssassin). It’s also pretty tactical. Maybe one day I will dive in and do some AI for it.
